Designing Software with Lean UML

UML is just like separated graphics. Although it provides rich visual information, the UML can be overwhelming. Therefore, we need to understand the link between one diagram to the others. On this article, we want to understand the link between one diagram with the others. Let's write five steps to understand the lean UML model.

#Step 1 – Creating User Hierarchies

On this step, we can create the diagram that consist actors in the UML. The actors can be related to each other.

#Step 2 – Creating Business Interaction Diagram

On this step, we can create the business interaction diagram. We took the actor from user hierarchies and created the business interaction diagram. Each actor will have one business interaction diagram.

#Step 3 – Creating the Activity Diagram

On this step, we can create the activity diagram for each business use case. The business use case can be created using activity diagram.

#Step 4 – Creating Data Modeling

Based on the activity diagram the data modelling is created with physical database

#Step 5 – Creating Information Architecture

Information architecture is created by identifying the menu in the activity diagram,

#Step 6 – Creating Mockup

On this step, the information architecture will be used to create mockup.

#Step 7 – Component Diagram

On this step, we create component diagram based on the technology selection of the developers. This step is optional, and you can skip it, if you want to

#Step 8 – Deployment Diagram

On this step, we create deployment diagram based the computing environment
